Since it appears there is no way at this time to order a Kit of the Eventorbot, I started from scratch and will try to build it, made in Germany.

I am not an engeneer and have never build anything. I also have zero experience with 3D Software or concepts and electronik of 3D Printers. Also no idea about CNC and alike. So to resume. I have nothing.

But I like the thing and I will build it from scratch. So to begin with, I started with the electronic of the thing and ordered:

Estimated delivery Dec 18, 2012 by 6:00 PM, but we will see. Until know I had bad experience with german customs with goods comming from US. This time it is Hong Kong, and it will be worse, I think.

The seconde order I made, was for the motors. But this time from Germany.

After a fast youtube s crash lesson about SketchUp 8, I tried to integer these components in the design of Eventorbot and then I saw that i have bought different components...because Eventorbot has no display and no SD slot and is not prepared to operate without the help of a computer...shit

Then i understood that I have ordered a different motherboard, so I will need a different mother board tray. And because I have a display, I need a case to hold it. And I found it at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:28767. But there is no windows in this case for the SD, USB and Power...so I will have to print a new one as soon my printer works. I hope.

Today I finished ordering what could be ordered.

My Paypal account says I spent till now 412,61 EUR (545,18 $). And I still have to purchase:

The frame, till now quoted at 100 Eur
The plastic parts, no price quoted till now XX Eur
The Hothead XX Eur, no idea how and where to make it, no STL

This is and will be much more (estimated double) than the backers of a full kit have payed...

Most parts are in Ebay. But I just watched again the video of our master Duy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pCEw9yesy_o and it looks different. So I do not know if it will fit in the setup.

Today I received the first package. And guess what? It is the one from Hong Kong. They were faster than any one from Germany or Europe. Respect!

So I will start uploading the firmware...but I don t know what to upload and how to upload and where to upload...

The software and firmware are installed and running. I had some beginner's problems but solved them...here is a quick history about what I did.

1. Download the Arduino Software

Comment: I was happy to see that the software runs without any problem on my linux.

2. Download, configure and upload the Marlin Firmware

Comment: this step looks easy but it wasn t for me. I started at http://reprap.org/wiki/List_of_Firmware and from there I downloaded the suggested Firmware Marlin_RC3.zip from https://github.com/ErikZalm/Marlin/tags. After setting up Arduino (see this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DA4_NiBm96U). I didn t change anything in the firmware as shown in the video. I tried to compile the firmware, but without succes...compile errors...

Then googled the errors, and found things that are not logic. Some said, I have to downgrade Arduino software...others said I have to change two configuration files of Marlin, the main config file and the pin file. Because changing the pins setting sounds a bit tricky for me, I changed first the config file of Marlin, telling him I have MEGA/RAMPS up to 1.2 = 3. With this I was able to compile. Restarted the board...nothing, the panel screen was blank. Then I found a German page where I was told, If the panel does not work, it may be because of the display brightness setting. This could be adjusted turning a screw on the back of the panel. I tried but didn t help. This page said also, if it doesn t help, then it means there is something wrong with the firmware.

Went back to the config file, and looked a while to this setting in the config file:

RAMPS 1.4 is not there...hmm...ok I select RAMPS 1.3 = 33 but no way, it only compiles when I select MEGA/RAMPS up to 1.2 = 3. Since it is compiling, I thought ok, let it like this and look to the panel settings:

I tried all combination i could imagine, but no way, as soon as I activate anything related to the panel, I can not compile. I begun then reprogramming the functions calls and then understood, that this thing is simply buggy. So I stoped and started over.

knew, this is it! but how to download all the files? there is no download link! I spent really about 10 minutes looking around....then I thought WTF why there is no DOWNLOAD link to the zip file, in this moment I saw the ZIP link. Because this smart people gave the link the name ZIP and not DOWNLOAD I wasn t able to see it.

After downloading...simple configuration...option 33 for the board...and changed only the main config file....no pin file or screw...flashed and saw this
